Comedian Chris "CP" Powell has been growing has fan base exponentially after building a strong following in Detroit. The Motor City helped shape his style, as he is a native of Detroit, graduating from Mumford High School. Following, he garnered a degree in Communication Studies. Deciding to delve into comedy in The D provided him a start in the industry while still keeping his roots ingrained into his comedy that people of all backgrounds and humor styles can appreciate.

Writer/performer Chris “Comedian CP” Powell enjoyed a thriving career in advertising in Detroit before moving to Los Angeles. Powell has stayed true to his city in starring in Comedy Central's Detroiters and TBS's The D, for which he is a co-creator, writer, and performer. CP has found great success while having a recurring role in Fox's Empire. Additionally, MTV2's World Star TV and Russell Simmons All Def Comedy Live HBO Special.
