SUB Fine Arts Committee

Fine arts committee works on a variety of artistic events such as hanging art shows in the Gallery and Pioneer Room in the Memorial Union, sponsoring art competitions, and bringing guest artists to speak, perform, and exhibit their work.

Upcoming Events: 

Assembled Juried Show Art Submission - Sunday, February 5 from noon - 3pm

A student exhibition with an emphasis in three-dimensional works incorporating metal, clay, fiber, wood and mixed media.  Forty pieces will be chosen by a Des Moines artist Linda Lewis including award winners.  Be sure to check out the link under the Fine Arts tab on the left for framing hints!

Paintpushers Reception & Critique - Wednesday, February 8 at 6:30pm

Artists from Paintpushers in Des Moines have their work on display in the Gallery in the Memorial Union. A reception will be held Wednesday, February 8 at 6:30pm. Students are encouraged to bring their work and members of Paintpushers will give students a critique. This is a wonderful opportunity to get constructive criticism from practicing artists.

Assembled Reception & Waste Land Documentary

Assembled is a juried exhibition showcasing mixed media and three dimensional artworks by Iowa State students. The show is open for any and all Iowa State students to enter. The drop off date for submissions is Sunday, February 5th from 12pm - 3pm. The reception will be held on Tuesday, February 21st at 7pm. There will be a showing of the documentary "Waste Land" following the reception.
