These United States play lots of shows—a couple hundred a year since they started. And this leaves little time for much else. “We don’t pay rent anywhere, we don’t have health insurance, 88% of our socks have holes in them, and our teeth have not been professionally cleaned in a very long time – though we all floss often, and thoroughly. You shouldn’t feel sorry for us – it’s a good life, if a hard one.” But coming to their show at 9 p.m. Saturday, November 14 at the M-Shop would be a nice way to support all their efforts and holy socks.
As their name suggests, These United States meld together influences from all across the country to successfully create a unified sound that offers comparison to M. Ward. Of their most recent release, Daytrotter.com says, “It is, without being at all overly enthusiastic, one of the best records you will hear this year... it will make you feel completely human.”
These United States, along with Frontier Ruckus, will play at the M-Shop November 14. Doors will open at 8:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 9 p.m.
