Born in the Pacific Northwest, overcast skies and countless hours in her bedroom led Deb to music. At age 11 she first picked up a guitar, learning to play famed riffs of her favorite artists at the time like Nirvana and Pixies. Too shy yet to play with or in front of others, she found refuge recording songs in her bedroom closet, the only place in the world with good acoustics and the safety to explore her own head. That’s where her dream-like melodies, unadulterated voice, and ominous grunge sound were developed.

Deb's teenage years found her in different bands, however none that lasted long. If it was going to happen, she realized, it had to be her own way. Her own path. Following 2 months of soul-searching through Europe, Deb was back in America (on a friends couch in Los Angeles) and had arrived at a crossroads: Either do as planned and go home to start college in the fall, or stay there and try and figure this music thing out. Deb never made it to her flight the next morning.

Fast forward to 2018 - Deb meets Shlohmo and D33J through mutual friends and develops a quick bond with the two artists as well as the rest of the Wedidit Collective. Late night hangs turn into impromptu recording sessions, and together they record songs “Nothing Left,” “Heading South,” and a slew of other music. The process feels natural and pure, and Deb begins working with the guys on her debut project. Soon thereafter, D33J signs on as executive producer, and at their soldout 10-year anniversary show in LA, Wedidit introduces Deb Never as their first new signing of 2019.

Deb Never makes bedroom grunge ballads built for the millennial generation. Her voice, noticeably distinct, rides triumphantly off the back of its melodic uniqueness. Production is always built around a single guitar, Deb's most natural instrument, and blends in high frequency drum patterns that bring the songs into the current. While her disarming energy comes clad in a simple black hoodie, dirty Converse, and infectious laugh, it only makes her complex lyrics and raw voice that much more bewitching.
